25 Years of Experience

From the early days with no suspension and rim brakes to modern long travel disc brake machines, I've been riding, repairing, and upgrading mountain bikes for 25 years.  Professionally trained at the United Bicycle Institute (1998) and a lifetime of personal and career experience allows me to accurately diagnose your bike, help you choose the right upgrades, or create your ultimate custom ride.

Testimonials

What I like best about Alan being my wrench is my bike always seems to work right after he lays hands on it. He has an incredible insight into what works and what doesn’t. He has built up four bikes for my wife and I, and they all meet our needs perfectly. Whether it is a tune up, a new set of custom wheels, or a ground up build, Alan has always come through.
— Bill M
Alan has been building my road and mountain wheels for years. He’s a great source of knowledge and has always been patient and honest when it comes to options that will give me exactly what I want.
— Dan K
Alan has been working on my bikes for over 9 years now. In all that time my confidence in Alan as a mechanic and a wheel builder just keeps getting stronger.
— Alex P
Gifted mechanic with spot-on diagnostics, brilliant technical skills and insightful, high value recommendations. Patiently shares his knowledge. He’s the go-to guy for this finicky bike nerd.
— Russ K

About Me

MY NAME IS alan

My first mountain bike was purchased in 1990 and it wasn't long before I was modifying the suspension and grafting on disc brakes.  I worked as a mechanic in bike shops through school, then switched gears to architecture for about ten years while staying active as a wheel builder for local racers.  Eventually I shifted back to being a shop owner, mechanic, and frame fabricator.  My technical knowledge runs far deeper than most bike mechanics, but my goal to help people have a good time out on the trails is what motivates me the most.
